The first Friday forum of the autumn session “Air Sea Rescue”, proved to be one of our most successful with 45 attending. It began with Scott Jackson outlining the work of the U.S. Coastguard at Culdrose which was extremely interesting and informative. This was followed by an interactive Mayday scenario, together with Stuart Elliman – Brixham Coastguard, Giles White – Deputy Skipper of the Exmouth Lifeboat and Kevin Riley – representing the RNLI, all showing us how they co-ordinate in order to deal with each call.
The evening was much enjoyed and appreciated by all present.
An invitation was extended to those present to visit Culdrose and see over the helicopters. It is hoped that this can be arranged for the beginning of December and should be a super day out.
Don’t miss the rest of the autumn programme.
